Hannah Lee founded Otherlove in 2016, a consciously-led creative studio. With a small and powerful team, Hannah holds space for close collaboration to create work that is both scalable and impactful. As a designer, Hannah brings her keen eye for typography, color, and user experience to each project—built on a foundation of research, strategy, and intention. She strives to create enduring brands that are rooted in history and built for the future.
Hannah also has experience in the publishing industry and has designed book covers and websites for Dan Rather, John Waters, Julia Alvarez, among others. Her love of storytelling extends into her brand development for each client.
Hannah is a visual communication designer and is a certified brand strategist. She earned a BFA in Communication Design from Parsons the New School for Design, and she lived and worked in New York City. She now lives outside of Durham, NC with her husband and two dogs.
Janet is a design enthusiast, visual storyteller, styling maven, and perfecter of the physical space. She has a strong background in fashion design, styling, interiors, and retail art direction. At Otherlove, Janet weaves together research, strategy, content creation, and environmental design in a unique and captivating way, believing that beautiful visuals stem from beautiful stories.
Janet holds a BS in Fashion Design and Marketing. Her work experience includes 12 years for leading brands like Vera Wang, DKNY, Halston and Kensie in the heart of New York City, and launching a retail athleisure boutique, GLOW Raleigh, enhancing their brand through customer experience and product curation. She lives in Raleigh with her husband, two sons, and shiba inu pup.
Sarah is a stellar web developer and multimedia artist. With her expertise, Otherlove builds cutting edge, functional, and beautiful websites and ecommerce experiences.
Sarah has a decade of interactive experience, making documentary videos, animating motion graphic shorts, and developing websites for clients including Converse, Pepsi, and Diageo. She started her career in music business in New York City, creating documentaries about artists including Matt and Kim, Joey Bada$$ and Yuna. Sarah holds an MFA in and Documentary Art from Duke University and a BA in Visual Journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill. She was awarded the Princess Grace Award for film in support of her MFA thesis. She has been a lecturer at Duke University teaching HTML, Javascript, motion graphics, and more. Sarah lives in Durham, NC with her dog.
